Beautification of Wellington’s parks and CBD on track

10 Feb, 2012 08:57 AM
Wellington Council’s Technical Services director Owen Johns has advised council the beautification of Cameron Park and the central business district is on target following a meeting of the project monitoring committee attended by a majority of the councillors.

Mayor Anne Jones asked the Technical Services director if he would make the deadline of July and he said he believed he would.

Bad weather has delayed a number of projects including the shire’s roads but Mr Johns believes his team will complete the work on designs for the beautification and complete repairs to

fences.

In relation to plants in the gardens of Cameron Park these will be “low maintenance” according to the Technical Services director.

The Council is also calling for interested members of the community to become part of the Tidy Towns Committee.
