A new family-run liquor store, that aims to target Wellington’s specialty wine market, opens today.
The new and improved Quain’s Liquor Store, situated on Montefiores Road, is open for business offering a selection beer, spirits and the like.
Owners Fred and Lyn Griffiths, assistant manager Rebecca Griffiths and manager Pete Donnelly are hoping to grow the store to include a wine shop, selling an array of the region’s wines, mainstream wines and specialty wines.
“Mum and Dad want target the wine market in Wellington,” Rebecca Griffiths said this week, after stating she was excited about the liquor store opening today.
The liquor room is confined to one room at present, but Miss Griffiths said the plan was to eventually fill an existing larger room with liquor and include a wine shop.
Opening specials include two cartons of Toohey’s New stubbies for $66, two cartons of VB stubbies for $66, two cartons of Carlton Cold stubbies for $66, two cartons of XXXX Gold stubbies for $60, two cartons of Cascade premium light stubbies for $60, two cartons of Bundy Up 700ml for $60, Bundy cubes for $60, one carton of VB Gold stubbies for $28 or one carton of Resches stubbies for $40.
Quain’s Liquor Store is open from Monday through to Sunday.
